Lipitor is a medication, which helps to lower levels of cholesterol, but it does not completely cure, therefore, one must continue to take this medication as directed by the doctor if he wants to keep it down. To maintain the cholesterol level one may have to take cholesterol- lowering medicine for the rest of his life or it may rise again. If a dose of this medication is missed it should be immediately taken.
